Today we parted with our first car, the Jetta. Its a sad day.
We bought it right after we got married after AJ's Ford escort died. She was
good to us for so many years. We felt a bit like traitors buying a foreign car,
since my entire family's livelihood came from an American car company.
But my dad quickly forgave the insult, seeing that we needed a car that day,
and admitting that it would likely be a sturdy and reliable car.
Sturdy and reliable she still is. She pulled us through several feet of
snow in Grand Rapids, took the steep hills of Pittsburgh with grace,
and journeyed with us into parenthood. Oh the memories....
We are sorry you got bumped by the minivan dear friend.
