Last weekend the infamous Gunson girls (aka The Gunson Roses) gathered for our annual reunion. It was a sweet time together, a time away from our various worlds to find common ground in our friendships. Our roads divinely crossed during our time at Michigan State, and we have been friends ever since. We've shared each others joys, have mourned together, have welcomed babies, and in-laws, and step-parents with one another, and most of all we've helped each other grow. I've seen the hand of God in the life of these friends and cant help but be thankful for them.
This year we spent a weekend on Kelly's Island, near Sandusky in Ohio. We came from Delaware, D.C., Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. (Meegan was dearly missed and represents Florida.) We rented a big old house right on the water of Lake Erie, and spent most of our time on the porch talking. We dont usually have an agenda except to connect and challenge each other. And laugh and eat until our bellies hurt. So it was a successful weekend:)
Lucille was glad to meet her aunties and they welcomed her into the fold with kisses and kind words. I pray that she finds such worthy friends some day.
