Elliott is baptized

On May 9th, Elliott was baptized. It was a special day we shared with both G & G Estle
and G & G Rader- we were so glad they could be there. What also made it special was that two other kiddos who are dear to our family were baptized that day as well. Ben and Nikki Reed's daughter Vivian was born one month after Elliott. The Reeds are part of our Irvington community group and have quickly become great friends (not to mention neighbors!) Eleanore VanHoy is the daughter of Ryan and Trish. Ms. Trish watches our kids a few hours a week when I work....she is an "other mother" for them....and we love her!
Sweet Ellie joins our pack in all sorts of mischief:)

We are thankful for the promises God has made to us, for the covenant that He calls us into, and for which we pray Elliott embraces. We are also thankful for the beautiful spiritual family that surrounds us as we raise these kids, making lots of mistakes along the way. We baptized our son, not because we believe it will save him, but as "a seal and sign". Our God is his God.

As part of the baptism, Pastor Jason always mentions the meaning of the kids names.
Elliott means: the Lord is my God
Stephen means "crown," but more importantly, it is my father's name (above). Elliott already got his dimples, but I pray he also inherits my dads sense of humor, love for people, and desire to be in relationships (among other things). He has big footsteps to follow in.

Jen,
You made me cry!! What a wonderful tribute. I am not worthy, but for Christ, living in me.
Becky and I look forward to helping in the good work of sharing our faith with our awesome granchildren.
