Today we endured another nuclear scan. It wasnt fun. In the end the test showed that Elliott's left kidney is starting to lose function. One month ago, the function was still fine. The urologist wants to do surgery as soon as it can be scheduled...we should have a date tomorrow. If we wait, we compromise more kidney function and he assured us the risks of surgery will not really change now that he is over a month old.
We were hoping to avoid surgery, but are giving thanks for so many things, even with this news....God is good.
1. We have a renowned surgeon/specialist here in town.
2. There is an amazing children's hospital 5 miles from our house and on the same campus AJ works on. He can go back and forth during Elliott's two to three day stay.
3. Elliott is incredibly healthy and gaining weight so well. He weighed 13 lbs 9 oz today!
4. We have great insurance.
5. Our lives are in the hands of our Maker, who loves Elliott even more than we do.
Thanks for all the prayers and encouraging words...we are grateful! Will keep you posted on the surgery date.....

We'll be praying, Jen.
Jen and A.J.,
We join in agreement with you regarding little Elliot's surgery. He is in the hands of a loving God. So glad to hear that the attending physician is a real pro.
We love you all and will continue to cover this with prayer.
